Last time I asked for a Coca-Cola in a coffee shop, the waitress stopped for a moment and then suggested I have a fresh juice instead. I felt a little bit of guilt, was a little bit annoyed, and ordered the juice eventually.
Sometimes your clients don’t know what they truly need and it’s your job, as a good developer, to guide them through. Being a developer doesn’t mean caring about nothing but your code. A good developer must get familiar with a business domain of his client. In other words, you need to have at least some knowledge of space travel when you’re making an online store that sells rockets. It’s crucial to understand that you’re not creating just another online store. Instead, you should think how much value the online store will bring to your client and their customers.
